Midnight-Sun Golfing in Iceland

Welcome to Iceland! Upon arrival at the Keflavik airport, meet your private guide at the Arrival Hall, after the Icelandic Customs Area. He / She will be carrying a sign with your name on it. You will then depart for a mere 15-minutes’ drive to the Blue Lagoon and the Retreat Hotel and Spa. While the official check-in time is at 2:00 pm, you will enjoy 4-hours access to the exclusive Retreat Lagoon, including a private and luxurious changing room with a full bathroom.

Later in the afternoon, meet your guide and embark on your first golf adventure in Iceland. The Húsatóftar Golf Courses located only 10 minutes away from the Retreat, and it hosts the “Blue Lagoon Open Tournament” each year. The location is right by the Atlantic Ocean, where occasionally whales can be spotted.
We then return to the hotel for more leisure time at the SPA.

After breakfast at the hotel, check-out and meet your private guide at the lobby and depart on a half-day tour of the Reykjanes Geopark. We will stop at selected locations to take in the unique landscape and witness awesome geothermal activities, such as bubbling mud, steaming holes, lava fields, and colorful hills.

Later play golf at the Kiðjaberg Golf Course. Set between the Hvita River and Lake Hestvatn, the course is world-known for its breathtaking surroundings.

We then continue to your accommodation, ideally situated for the exploration of the Golden Circle.

After breakfast at your cozy hotel, check-out, and meet your guide at the lobby. Today we explore several of Iceland's most famous attractions, all within the "Golden Circle." We first stop at Geysir, a place that coined the term for the natural phenomena known as "Geysers." Strokkur, arguably the country's most famous hot spring, shooting vast jets of boiling water between 65 feet and 130 feet high, and erupts every five to ten minutes; make sure to have your camera ready!

Continue to Gullfoss, the "Golden Falls," a tiered waterfall with a whopping height of 105 feet. The crevice is hidden from sight at close range, making it appear as though the river vanishes into the earth.

Today, lunch is at the Friðheimar tomato farm, where you enjoy a delicious Tomato Soup and freshly baked bread amidst the tomato vines.

After lunch, enjoy a round of golf at the Þorlákshöfn Golf Course, the world's only black-sand golf course! With a mountain ridge on one side and the black sand beach at the other, it is truly a mesmerizing location.

Daylight is long during the summer, and if your energy level allows, we suggest hopping on an ATV adventure on the Black Sand Beaches.
We then arrive at your hotel in the South Shore, in time for dinner and an overnight stay.

Depart the hotel and drive towards the nearby pier for a ferry-ride to the volcanic Westman Islands. Here you will play golf at the Vestmannaeyar course. Set in an old volcano, it is a real test for your golfing skills. Teeing off against a backdrop of volcanic walls, changing wind directions on the same hole, while playing over the sea, are all the regular challenges of this unique location.

Later, hop on a Rib-boat for a thrill ride along the Islands’ cliffs in search of Puffins, also known as the “Clowns of the Sea,” as well as Iceland’s National Bird.

We then examine the aftermath of the 1793 volcanic eruption before returning by ferry to your hotel on the main island.

Rise and Shine! Check out of the hotel and depart to the Eyjafjallajokull Volcano Glacier! The legendary Eyjafjallajokull is the Icelandic volcano, which brought European air traffic to a standstill in 2010. It is also famous for having an unpronounceable name. A massive 100 km2 ice cap completely covers E15 (for short). 

Snowmobiling on top of the E15 glacier is an extraordinary experience. The tour starts from the basecamp, with a short briefing. We then gear up with a snowsuit and step into the Super-Jeep that will take us up on a steep road to the mountain, onto the glacier, pick up the snowmobiles ride to the glacier Eyjafjallajökull. All the essential gear for a safe and comfortable ride is provided, and no previous experience is required.

The next highlight of the day is the impressive Seljalandsfoss waterfall; here, you can walk behind the cascade for a unique view through the water's thundering torrents. Continue to yet another beautiful waterfall, Skogafoss. This powerful waterfall has a drop of 196 feet, sometimes displaying a perfect rainbow across the entire water veil.

And then on to the black volcanic beaches of Reynisfjara, we go, with the geometric basalt columns standing tall. We then continue east along the Ring Road through stunning vistas of snow-caps, rivers, and the ocean, to our hotel, near the Glacier Lagoon.

We start early morning with a fantastic private kayaking tour on a glacier lagoon called Heinabergslon, less visited by the crowed and the motorboats. You will gear up and get instructions before embarking on a truly magical glide through the frigid water at the lagoon. Here you can become part of the environment, paddle alongside the floating icebergs.

You will visit the glistening and glittering, Diamond Beach, where the icebergs float ashore and create a unique landscape by the shore. When you witness nature made ice sculptures, you will understand why this spectacular place is called Diamond Beach.

Later we transfer to Hofn's airport for your flight back to Reykjavik. Once there, meet your driver for a short ride to your hotel in the city and walking tour.

Wake up to the relative hustle of the Icelandic capital. Meet your guide at the lobby and depart for a 25-minutes' drive to the city's outskirts, towards the dormant Þríhnúkagígur volcano. 

To experience this wonder, all you need is to hike a moderate 45–50-minute over the lava field, to the crater, and the courage to descend 400 feet to the bottom of the magma chamber in an open cable lift.  

Once at the Base Camp, your group will be briefed about all the essential safety procedures, and the guides will help you put on a helmet and a harness. The trips up and down the magma chamber take about 6 minutes each way, and the first ones to go down will be the first ones to go up.

You will spend about half an hour on the bottom of the magma chamber, during which time you can take as many photos as you want with the close supervision of the expert guides.

When you are back on the surface, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional Icelandic soup and a hot drink.

After this adventure, proceed to play golf at the Brautarholt Golf Course. The course lies in breathtaking nature by the sea with a view to Reykjavik city. Brautarholt is ranked in 62nd place amongst the Top 100 Best Golf-Courses in the World according to Golfscape and in 40th place on the best golf-courses list in Scandinavia, according to Golf Digest Magazine.
