Excursions
- Excursions at Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica are included in the lodge’s rates, & their duration varies: ¼, Half and Full-day and they are classified in three difficulty levels: Easy, Moderate or Difficult.
- The excursions are guided by trained professional interpreters in Spanish or English. Their knowledge and interpretive skills combine to provide understanding, insight and an enhanced experience of the surrounding environment.
Meals and beverages
- The food at Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica is prepared with fresh local ingredients and is inspired by the tropical flavors of the Amazon region.
- Breakfast is served in buffet style, while lunch and dinner are a la carte, with limited options. All meals include a variety of salads and fruits, as well as a selection of homemade bread. Meals are served at the main dining room where you can find a complete bar service (additional charged may apply)

- Every day at 3:30 p.m. at the Eco Center.
Evening Nature Talk
- Our interpreter’s guides, or a guest researcher, will present an illustrated speech on the flora and fauna of the Tambopata Rainforest. The presentation includes a slide show and an informative discussion on forest biodiversity; covering such topics as rare and endemic birds, including the black-faced Cotinga, insects (especially ants) and other species.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival to the Amazon
Arrive in Puerto Maldonado and travel along the Madre de Dios River toward Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica. Settle into your cabana and enjoy a guided walk along the lodge trails. In the late afternoon, head out on a twilight river excursion to observe caimans and other night creatures as the forest shifts into dusk. (l,d)
Day 2 - Waterways and Forest Trails
Begin with the Rainforest Garden and Amazon Wetlands experience to learn about native species. Later, canoe along Gamitana Creek, surrounded by lush vegetation and birdlife. After lunch, explore the Inkaterra Trail System on a guided walk. Optional nocturnal exploration is available for those wishing to discover the jungle after dark. (b,l,d)
Day 3 - Life in the Treetops - Canopy Tree House
After lunch at the lodge, meet your Explorer Guide for a short canoe ride to the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway. A Canopy Butler welcomes you and escorts you to your treetop hideaway. Explore the 1,130-ft network of suspension bridges and platforms, then enjoy sunset from the towers. After dinner, choose to sleep in the canopy or in a ground-level room. Rise early to spot wildlife, enjoy breakfast, and take part in activities such as the Anaconda Walk.
Day 4 - Farewell to the Rainforest
Spend the morning enjoying the surroundings, take one last nature walk, or relax by the river. Later, board your boat back to Puerto Maldonado for your onward flight.
